Lightart
Drawing on cosmology, physics and biology, One Thousand Galaxies of Light (Starfield) (2022) is inspired by the night sky. The installation consists of an organic site-specific configuration of 100 silver stainless steel columned light structures standing 3 meters tall.
Artist Gisela Colón envisages an imaginary forest of mystical horizons, which leads to a vibrant world of the future. She imagines the timeless light as a marker of time and a reflection on the human condition, and the installation as an embodiment of the cosmic energy present in nature around us all.
