Ahaad Alamoudi’s It’s Really Hard to See From Here is a video installation that demonstrates what happens when heat is applied to a visibly reactive material, using light as a tool for action, reaction and change.

A man on the screen wears a heat-reactive thawb. Spotlights shine on him, resulting in the color of his clothing changing; when the lights are turned off, the viewer observes the thawb return to its original color. The artwork highlights the burden a body carries when pressure is applied, showing the power of light and its relationship to heat in forming and reforming an image.
