Vision

Weaving parallels between the lines and curves of a woman’s shape and a bird’s shape, Noha Al-Sharif produces a harmony of forms. Her piece Vision (2023) focuses on the element of space, drawing relationships between shadow and light in the urban space. Her interest includes searching for symbols and simplified shapes in the ancient rock inscriptions in Saudi Arabia, which she studies and attempts to render them in three-dimensional ways. In this manner, she seeks to liberate the form from the traditional, adding in elements that create rhythm and proportion that bring them to light in imaginative and abstract ways.
