Kim De Ruysscher’s Unseen (2021) explores the unknown and new experience of creating a work in Saudi Arabia, alongside the vast unknown of the future. The unseen, the not knowing, and the veil over reality are aspects that occur frequently in his sculptural work, investigating the balance between life and time. Through sculpture, he explores surfaces that encourage the viewer to want to dismantle them, to uncover them, and to find the underlying thoughts and memories imbued in stone.
