Kowah

Drawing inspiration from historic Najdi architecture, Hmoud Alattawi’s Kowah (2022) examines the spirituality of light in Saudi culture, and its influence on the present and the future. Kowah reflects a motherland that welcomes modernity as a sign of enlightenment. Progressing through the space, the audience moves metaphorically through time, with light reflecting the freedom and mobility that illumination brings.
