Julius von Bismarck is a multidisciplinary artist known for pushing boundaries. His innovative projects investigate the interplay between nature and civilization, knowledge, and cultural creativity, individual behavior and social norms. Through photography, film, installation, sculpture, performance, and working with the landscape, he explores encounters with powerful elemental forces that surpass human comprehension. His work is influenced by extensive research and experimental approaches that merge the realms of physics, technology, and the social sciences, such as Image Fulgurator (2007-2011), which earned him the Prix Ars Electronica.
Julius von Bismarck has exhibited in institutions such as: Berlinische Galerie, 2023; Bienal do Mercusol, Porto Alegre, 2022; Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2019; Marlborough Contemporary, New York City, 2017; Weserburg I Museum für moderne Kunst, Bremen, 2020; National Gallery of Art, Vilnius2017); among others.
