Composed of twenty multicolored trees that seem to glow in the dark, Shoplifter invites the public into a colorful, immersive, and interactive installation. As the viewers walk through the forest, they are transported to a world of imagination and surreality. The trees are decked out with synthetic hair extensions, as the artist’s own way of sculptural landscape painting –while the mix of different colors makes her work vibrant and playful and celebrates human behavior and pop culture. Xanadu II brings exuberance, joy, and humor by mimicking an everyday object, like a tree, and giving it an otherworldly presence.
