In Rain Stones (2023) by Rob Good, three wide slabs of beige granite are carved to represent vast sheets of cloud, overlapping and interacting to create a great temporal presence. Mounted vertically and pinned to a dark granite base with integrated seating, it is hoped that the scale of this work will become a focal point for the city, creating a space for both social interaction and quiet contemplation. This sculpture offers clouds to the desert, in thanks for the waters of yesterday, and in joyful expectation of tomorrow.
