PRISMA

Prisma transports the viewer into the emotion and chaos of everyday life of people. It unfolds in major cities where Vhils has showcased some of his most important work over the last decade: Beijing, Cincinnati, Hong Kong, Lisbon, Los Angeles, Macao, Mexico City, Paris, and Shanghai. Mirroring the effect of an optical prism, the video shows the reflection of shared experiences into different wavelengths and frequencies devised to be individually absorbed and deciphered. The work’s evocative slow-motion footage gives time for the complexity of human existence within globalized urban contexts to reveal itself.
