Kim Farkas’s 22-20 (2022) is a large piece composed of multiple towering, self-illuminated oblong sculptures. Often, in the artist’s practice, a new sculpture is based on the drawings of its predecessors. Similarly, 22-20’s organically forming, entangled peaks were morphed from previous iterations of the artist’s works.

The morphing and merging shapes of the artist’s sculptures show how his conduits are permanently adapting to different situations, acting similarly to minds and bodies exposed to different contexts. This is particularly true, according to the artist, for the migrant body, which is by nature exposed to transformative processes.
