Founded in 2015 by Basmah Kaki (b.1989), Hessa Al Bader (b.1989), and Hussam Dakkak (b.1988). Live and work between Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Studio Bound is a design and research practice founded by Basmah Kaki, Hessa Al Bader, and Hussam Dakkak, graduates of the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. The trio operate between London and the Gulf, working on projects in the private and public sectors with designers and researchers across many industries. Their research focuses on the study of complex and unique urban contexts, aiming to bridge the design and academic disciplines, as well as the historic and contemporary.
Studio Bound has led design work for UNESCO heritage sites across Saudi Arabia, and has worked with the Saudi Ministry of Culture, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Art Foundation, the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority, and Art Jameel. In 2021 they represented Saudi Arabia at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale and in 2022 participated at the first Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah.
