PHI Studio explores points of intersection among the pure and social sciences, contemporary visual art, and practices of collaboration. The studio creates space in which artists can process and generate knowledge, in order to better understand the scientific and cultural means by which philosophy is framed. PHI is comprised of Saeed Gebaan, an industrial engineer by profession, and the artist Hatem Al Ahmad. Through installations, programming, and movement systems, Gebaan invites viewers to consider the intersection of science and society, making complex ideas accessible through artistic expression. Al Ahmad’s focus lies in environmentalism, and utilizes diverse mediums such as installation, video, and paintings to reflect on sustainability and stewardship.
