Marinella Senatore’s practice spans various mediums in order to create communities around her work. She conducts aesthetic research on transformative power through social engagement, dance, performance and her School of Narrative Dance (SOND). Senatore is also renowned for her luminous sculptures: imposing structures following southern Italy’s tradition and incorporating poetic sentences that are conceived as rallying calls. At the core of her approach is a vernacular language meant to be understood by all – an invitation to join.
