Noor Riyadh
Lachlan Turczan (b. 1993) is an American light and water artist who explores the interaction between nature and human perception. His practice of transforming light into a physical medium is deeply inspired by artists who were part of the Light and Space movement in Southern California in the 1960s.
The Los Angeles-based artist’s work has been presented at various fairs and exhibitions, including Milan Design Week, Milan (2023); Noor Riyadh Exhibition, Riyadh (2023); and Art Basel, Hong Kong (2023). In 2023, his keystone piece, Wavespace, won a LIT Lighting Design Award in the Immersive Lighting Project category.
Turczan’s experimental ideas can be seen in large-scale projects like the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas and the Surreal water feature in Expo City Dubai, where he worked as a choreographer.
