Janet Echelman is an artist whose work transcends traditional categorization, blending sculpture, architecture, urban design, material science, engineering, and computer science. Using unconventional materials such as atomized water particles and engineered fiber, she creates large-scale artworks that transform with wind and light, offering immersive experiences. Her installations have become prominent in cities worldwide, including Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai, Beijing, Boston, and London. Her educational background is diverse, with degrees in painting and psychology. Her artistic journey began in a small fishing village in India, where she collaborated with local fishermen and developed a unique approach to sculpture inspired by their lightweight fishing nets.
