Chris Levine is a versatile artist whose interdisciplinary approach encompasses a wide array of technologies, all with the unwavering goal of uncovering how light plays a fundamental role in the human experience. As a result, he aims to broaden perceptions and heighten sensitivity, using his artwork as a conduit to encourage the audience to experience the present more fully. For Levine, light is not just a medium but a spiritual and philosophical language. This unique perspective has led him to explore uncharted territories in new media, particularly the ways in which technologies such as holograms and lasers can contribute to the narrative of art and creative expression.
Chris Levine’s exhibitions and display of work have been staged at institutions worldwide, such as Houghton Hall in Norfolk, 2021; Museo Mario Testino, Lima, 2017; MoMA, New York, 2012; National Museum, Belfast, 2012; National Portrait Gallery, London, 2012; National Museum, Cardiff, 2012; Annenberg Foundation, Los Angeles, 2012; National Gallery of Scotland, 2012; and the Museum of Arts and Design, New York, 2011.
