Born in Medina, Asaad Badawi is currently training for his medical degree, after gaining a B.Sc in the Philosophy of Science from the University of Groningen. He is currently an intern at Medical Spectrum Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands.
His work within contemporary art continues this mix of science and philosophy, seeking new ways of looking at the ordinary. His artwork has explored how light, for example, functions in our natural environment while also providing a link to the deepest recesses of the universe.
His materials range from fabrics to metal, taking the form of curtains and supporting structures, all nourished and decayed by the light shining on them.
