Sarah Staton

Sarah Staton is a visual artist, educator, and curator whose multidisciplinary practice engages with the social and spatial dimensions of art in public space. She creates permanent sculptures, exhibitions, curatorial projects, and artist-led publications. Her works are located in both urban and rural settings across the United Kingdom. In 2025, she completed three major commissions for the London Tideway, including Herons, a pair of bronze birds installed on a new riverside building, shortlisted for the Marsh Award for Public Sculpture.

Staton’s work has been exhibited at leading institutions such as Tate, the V&A, Serpentine, South London Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and Shedhalle Zurich. Her pieces are held in collections including the British Museum, South London Gallery, and Tate, as well as in private collections across the United Kingdom, the United States, and Europe.

She is the founder of SupaStore, a nomadic curatorial initiative and distribution platform that features artists’ editions and publications. Recent presentations of SupaStore include Museum Tinguely in Basel, A plus A Gallery in Venice, Cylinder Gallery in Seoul, and South London Gallery. Staton teaches at the Royal College of Art where she has led the Sculpture Programme and co-developed the Spatial Value Catalyst in collaboration with Foster plus Partners, BuildHollywood, and the House of Koko in London.
