Light projections remain a hugely impactful medium for artists, allowing them to express themselves wherever they choose and to create moments where the viewer can become emotionally connected to the art.
Come and join us on this two-part experience. The first is an exploration of light projection from an historical perspective, detailing the origins and artistic movements that have contributed to its development and acceptance as an artistic medium today. We will also look at how technological advancements may transform and further popularize the medium in the future.
The second part delves into the experiential, emotive and ethereal potential of this inspirational media art form, taking as reference contemporary designer Pauline David’s A Dialog into Light. The light-based art work uses projection and design interventions to pull the viewer into a portal of fantasy, time and architecture.
