Dr.Manal Al-Harbi

A Saudi artist and academic specializing in sculpture, she holds a Master’s degree obtained in 2003 and a Ph.D. in 2009. She also earned an advanced diploma from the Geneva University of Art and Design, Switzerland, in 2013. She is considered the first Saudi female sculptor to earn both a Master’s and a Ph.D. in this field.

She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the College of Design and Arts, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. She began practicing sculpture in 1993 and won first place in the inaugural level at the “Pure Art” Foundation Exhibition for emerging artists in Riyadh in 1999. Throughout her artistic career, she has participated in exhibitions both inside and outside the Kingdom. Her notable international participations include the Fifth Cairo International Biennale in 2000 and the First Khnum International Sculpture and Ceramics Symposium in 2022, along with several other participations in Britain, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Switzerland, and China.

Her research and writings focus on sculpture practices in the Kingdom, and she has published several research papers in the field of sculpture. She has conducted specialized courses and workshops and has judged several competitions. In the academic field, she has participated in numerous conferences and scientific meetings.
