Eiman Elgibreen is an artist and an assistant professor of art history at the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She obtained a PhD in art history from the University of Sussex (UK) for her research on “Image Making: Representations of Women in the Art and Career of Safeya Binzagr 1968-2000.” Since 2011, Elgibreen has also been a freelance writer for Al-Riyadh Daily Newspaper and Al- Jazirah Daily Newspaper.
She worked with a number of established local and international organizations on various projects concerning Saudi art, such as: MoMA Museum, Art Dubai Modern, MiSK Art Institute, Ithra World Center, Darat Safeya Binzagr, and Dar Al-funoon Al-Saudia. In addition, she has curated a number of art exhibitions, including the Saudi National Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, 2019; and received the Getty-CAA Grant for International Art Historian for 2020.
