Relic, 2023

Polish artist Karolina Halatek creates luminous environments where solitude becomes sacred. Relic (2023) is a cylindrical tunnel of diffused white light that isolates a single viewer within radiance. Entering it feels like stepping into silence, with no image, no direction, only suspended brightness. The space dissolves the boundary between inner and outer worlds, enveloping the viewer in a cloud of pure perception. Halatek’s minimalism amplifies emotion, where the absence of detail becomes presence itself.
The title suggests faith yet offers no doctrine, framing light as the most universal relic of all. The work transforms the act of standing still into revelation, a contemporary pilgrimage condensed into one breath of illumination.
