Fahad Al Naymah’s Mangiah (2024) is a sculptural light artwork that illustrates a caravan of white camels with neon lights. Based on the artist’s oil paintings, this newly commissioned iteration translates Al Naymah’s abstract brush strokes into a contemporary light piece, which is similarly inspired by the animals in his Saudi hometown of Dhurma, particularly near the Tuwaiq mountains.

Situated in Wadi Hanifah, the artwork comprises three iron frames lined with lights. The abstract yet recognizable forms of the camels overlap each other, inviting visitors to walk among the sculptures and reflect on the beauty of white camels famed for their pure color, rarity, and high value. An accompanying audio composed of camel sounds brings the desert scenery to life.

Mangiah reminds the audience that camels are not merely animals in Arab culture but a heritage symbol and a source of pride across Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf.
