Le Ciel coloré et projeté, travail in situ

The artwork Le Ciel coloré et projeté (2022) was created in situ at Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Bin Ayyaf Park as artist Daniel Buren believes the location is inseparable from the work. This geometrical structure affirms one of Buren’s most fundamental objectives in a spectacular way: the multiplicity of viewpoints and the abundance of possibilities. It is an immersive work that contains an architecture within a square and raises the question ‘What is art?’. It explores the reverse and the right side, the decor and the decorated, the sculpture and the painting as light brings the colors and shadows of the structure to life.
