Energy of Vision, 2024

Hmoud Alattawi’s Energy of Vision (2024) is an interactive installation that illustrates humanity’s role in building civilizations by inviting visitors to engage with a structure. Modeled after The Mukaab, a large cube-shaped building planned in Riyadh for 2032, the newly commissioned artwork reflects Saudi Arabia’s vision for a prosperous future, which involves collective human drive and effort.

Alattawi’s cuboid steel structure appears dim when observed from afar, drawing curious visitors close. As soon as sensors detect a presence nearby, they trigger a cascade of light that illuminates the walls of the installation in neon hues. Now brightly lit and complete, the artwork invites the audience to contemplate this interaction and consider how human contributions are vital to growth and progress.
