Ugo Rondinone (Switzerland, b. 1964) is a contemporary artist whose work traverses sculpture, installation, video, and performance to investigate time, nature, and the inner self.

Fusing minimal form with symbolic content, he draws on ancient and modern traditions, often creating immersive experiences that balance pathos with serenity.

Educated at the Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna, Rondinone has lived and worked in New York since 1997.

His works have been exhibited in major institutions including the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, and Schirn Kunsthalle.

In 2007, he represented Switzerland at the 52nd Venice Biennale. His artistic vision bridges modernist clarity with archaic symbolism, offering deeply personal yet universally resonant meditations on the human condition.
