Stanza (b. 1962) is a British artist whose digital artworks span installation, sculpture, and software systems that investigate the issue of surveillance culture in cities and future urban spaces. The London-based artist incorporates new technologies to open conversation around privacy and the ethics of monitoring systems, often reframing real-time traffic and environmental data using artificial intelligence to give control back to the public.
Stanza holds a PhD in art from the University of Westminster, London, and has exhibited since 1982. Some of his work was most recently shown at Deutsches Museum Nürnberg, Germany in 2023, Samek Art Museum, US in 2023 and Järvenpää Art Museum, Finland in 2022.
The artist’s works have been awarded numerous accolades, including the CYNETART Award in 2018. Stanza was also an artist-in-residence at S+T+ARTS in the City, Milan in 2024.
