Noor Riyadh
NONOTAK (est. 2011) is a creative studio founded by French-Japanese visual artist Noemi Schipfer (b. 1988) and Japanese light and sound artist Takami Nakamoto (b. 1988). They combine Schipfer’s expertise in kinetic visuals and geometric drawings with Nakamoto’s background in architecture and music to create dreamlike audiovisual installations and performances with an emphasis on light as a medium. Inspired by minimal architecture, space and optical art, their practice spans various artistic domains, from cinema to design.
The Paris-based duo began gaining recognition with their second audiovisual installation DAYDREAM V.2 (2013), which has been exhibited in venues like Wonderspaces Austin, US in 2024. They showcased their works at notable institutions across the US, Europe and Asia, including the Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow in 2021, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kyoto in 2017, and Tate Britain, London in 2015.
Additionally, the duo was selected for Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe under The Arts category in 2016.
