Massimo Uberti is an Italian contemporary artist who works with light both as a medium and tool for his work. By manipulating artificial light, Uberti controls the perception of the viewer, altering their view of themselves and the world around them.
Seeing light as a new expressive field, Uberti sees a unique quality in the experience that it can create. Beauty, amazement, knowledge, functional quality, and wellness gain new energy from the skillful control of light. Not in an abstract way, but through a joyful connection which can exist between art and the every day. Between the sublime and the mundane.
Uberti takes us on a journey to change how we experience the world, both through light and the way that light interacts with the architecture that makes up the background to our lives. His light installations have been at the heart of some of the world’s most inspirational and impactful light festivals. Uberti’s work has appeared in the US, Italy, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, Germany and beyond.
