Marwah AlMugait (b.1981) is a visual artist from Riyadh. Following a Bachelor's degree in business administration from King Saud University, Marwah pursued her Master's in photojournalism at the University of Westminster, London. AlMugait’s work draws attention to the invisible, neglected, or unfamiliar details of everyday life. Using exposition, she sheds light on the mechanics of communication, finding the gaps and ambiguity in relationships by drawing from a wide range of technologies and a heightened sense of awareness as she invites her audience to pay attention to the pauses in human interaction.
Her work has been exhibited in I Love You Urgently, 21,39, Jeddah (2020); Epicenter, The Arab American National Museum, Detroit (2017); Safar, 21,39, Jeddah (2017); AlHangar Art, Jeddah (2016); Galerie Clairefontaine, Luxembourg (2015); Alberah Art Gallery, Bahrain (2015); Naila Art Gallery, Riyadh (2015); Inlight Studio, Toronto (2014); and Emerge Art Fair, Washington DC (2014).
