Noor Riyadh
Jiyen Lee (b. 1979) is a South Korean artist known for sculptural installations, collages and videos that focus on microscopic details. Lee examines how technology affects our relationship with nature by gathering small, imperceptible units to tell a larger story in her work. Her creative vision is heavily influenced by the works of renowned South Korean artist Lee Bul, as well as her fine arts education from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK.
Lee has exhibited across Asia, Europe and the US, including in group shows such as Scenery of the Emptiness, and Asia, Asia Culture Center (ACC), Gwangju (2023) and The Future of This Land, Akiyoshidai International Art Village, Japan (2019). Recent solo exhibitions include Stain-Rainbow Forest 2 at the Art Sonjae Center, Seoul (2022).
The Seoul-based artist won the Emerging Artist Award from the Bank of Korea in 2016, among other accolades.
