Boris Acket (b. 1988) is a Dutch contemporary artist and composer who creates collective experiences with sound, light and motion, exploring the interplay between control and surrender in the natural world.
Initially rooted in electronic music and performance, Acket’s practice evolved to blur distinctions between art and entertainment to produce thought-provoking installations and interventions. While his work aims to offer sanctuary for the audience, it also hints at dystopian narratives of our future interactions with the environment.
The Amsterdam-based creative often collaborates with artists and collectives, such as Berlin-based architecture studio Sub, Dutch designer Sabine Marcelis and Dutch composer Joep Beving. Acket has shown his works across the globe, including the pivotal series Einder, which features a dynamic, hanging sculpture crafted from a special fabric. His recent group exhibitions include Salone del Mobile Milano, Milan and MUTEK Mexico, Mexico City in 2022.
