Noor Riyadh
Anna Ridler (b. 1985) is an artist and researcher who works with systems of knowledge and how technologies are created to better understand the world. Challenging the field of generative art, Ridler deliberately employs new technologies like machine learning to question the societal implications of artificial intelligence. Her unique artistic approach further pushes the boundaries of how data can be used in storytelling.
Ridler holds a Master’s in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art, London. She gained significant recognition upon receiving the DARE Art Prize from Opera North and the University of Leeds in 2018, a commission that funds collaborations between artists and scientists. This led to group exhibitions at cultural institutions worldwide, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.
Notably, Ridler’s work Circadian Nocturne was shown at Times Square in New York City as part of its Midnight Moment art program in 2023.
